Course Overview
This course examines current cases in Japan-EU economic relations through a comparative analysis of trade and investment cases in the industrialized and industrializing world. Comparative cases of bilateral trade and investment issues taken to, for example, the World Trade Organization (WTO) will be analyzed throughout the course, and these will allow students to develop a deep knowledge and broad perspective of Japan's and the EU's economic relations with each other and with other countries. Based on an understanding of major cases in Japan-EU economic relations (including trade and inward/outward investment), students will develop a thorough understanding of the key issues that face Japan and the EU today.
